The Free WOD Clock Built for Serious CrossFit Athletes.
Official CrossFit fitness centers invest in full scale hardware gym clocks, since athletes require a big board with clear countdown that can be seen at any point in the training area, audible cues that cut through the music and deep breathing, and round tracking of multi-tiered structure of interval training. This free, web based WOD clock offers all of that in the form of a browser based device that can run on any device either a phone resting on a weight rack or a laptop connected to a large screen and a whole class. No application, no subscription, no account, just the modes that you need and an under-intensive display.
AMRAP: As Many Rounds As Practical.
The most widespread WOD format of the CrossFit programming is AMRAP. You have a time limit, usually 10, 15, 20 or 25 minutes long and do as many whole rounds of a complex of movements as possible before the time limit runs out. The amount of completed rounds and any other reps in an incomplete round at the bell are added together to give your score. Well known AMRAPs are Cindy (5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 air squats 20 minutes) and Murph (1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, 1 mile run although it is technically not a For Time workout). The AMRAP option available on this clock manually counts down to whatever time you have set, it produces a loud triple beep when you have reached your goal and it displays a completion beep. The Next Round button allows you to use the round counter manually and follow up on your total but not to lose track of the motion.
The EMOM: Every Minute on the Minute.
One of the most flexible training setups in functional fitness is EMOM workouts. The given quantity of reps of a movement is done at the beginning of every new minute. The rest of that minute is your rest. The work density or ratio of work time to rest time can be varied either through modification of the reps or movement. The more you become fit, the quicker you finish the reps giving yourself rest. When the reps begin taking the entire minute with no recovery it is time to either reduce or amplify your capacity. The EMOM mode of this clock sounds loudly at the beginning of the intervals and automatically adds the round counter which makes you always understand what minute you are in. The total minutes option will allow you to run 5 minutes skill primer to 30 minutes conditioning.
The Tabata: The HIIT Classical Protocol.
Tabata training was invented by a renowned doctor called Izumi Tabata in the national institute of fitness and sports Tokyo. The initial protocol, namely, 20 seconds of all-out work, 10 seconds of rest, 8 rounds of 4 minutes total, were demonstrated by research to give a benefit in both aerobic and anaerobic fitness at once in merely 4 minutes of actual work. Tabata has been commonly used in CrossFit as a single exercise ( Tabata Squats, Tabata Pull-Ups ) or a sequence of exercises. This WOD clock will follow the Tabata program exactly: it will sound off when a work round and rest rounds are complete, display the number of rounds completed of the total rounds, and the number of seconds left of a round. The default options are the identical protocol, and all the parameters such as work time, rest time, and the number of the rounds can be modified to tailor Tabata variants. Add this to our special Workout Timer for non-CrossFit interval training.
In the Case of Time: Racing Against the Clock.
Time workouts represent the most pure manifestation of the competitive spirit of CrossFit: the given work should be accomplished in the shortest possible time. The time you take at the finish line is your score. The stop watch is activated and it counts up until you press the finish button or time limit runs out. Famous For Time exercises involve Fran (21-15-9 thrusters and pull-ups), Grace (30 clean-and-jerk time) and Filthy Fifty (50 reps of 10 movements). This clock has the For Time mode which counts the elapsed time since the start of the clock with large digits. Limit the length of time your programming allows you to have one of these, the clock will run as usual but once you are passing the length of the cap it will change to a cap-exceeded alarm. Press Reset to get rid of the time or halt the clock after the workout.
3-2-1 Countdown: The Pre-Workout Mental Cue.
There is a physiological and psychological role of the 3-2-1 countdown prior to a WOD. It provides the athletes with a moment of time to take last breath, get into their starting position, and be mentally committed to the intensity they are about to apply. The countdown also brings a common experience of anticipation in that the individual training is transformed into a competition. When the countdown option is on, this WOD clock counts down to every exercise in 3-2-1. The counts have unique audio beep sounds. The main timer starts automatically when the last count is fired - there is no need to press an extra button. To have strength work with an integrated rest period, add this clock to our Boxing Timer or our Plank Timer to do a core conditioning work.
WOD Clock in the Gym Classes and Group Training.
WOD clocks based on browsers are used by CrossFit coaches, personal trainers, as it can be immediately viewed on any device and does not require software installation or licensing costs. Plug your laptop in your gym TV, or display with HDMI, open a WOD clock, change the format and countdown time, and all class will have the countdown. The big screen with high contrast display can be viewed at a distance of most box sizes. Audio feedback is used to give an auditory response to athletes who are turned away or staring to the ground at a barbell. The pause and resume buttons provide the coaches all the control that they need during the training session - they can pause whenever they need to correct a technique, ask a question of the athlete, or even change equipment easily without keeping the count of rounds.
